Holly, fantastic blog post. I loved hearing how your son took control and gained his dreams. Thanks so much for sharing his story (and yours) with those who haven’t heard it. He’s a wonderful young man.

Holly,
What a beautiful story about your son. So glad he is still kicking down doors. Sure makes the rest of us take notice and wonder what he’s got within him that gives such determination. I know you don’t take credit for this as you said, but I believe a loving praying mother helps determine the course of her children’s lives. May God bless you real good today as you stand back in amazement of His Grace.
Hope you had a good trip to India!
Hugs!

That’s the kind of pro football hero we need. I worked in a pediatric hospital and often did diabetic education with the patients and families. That’s such a hard one to get so young, they need positive role models so they can see their dreams can still happen!

Thanks Katie!

Inspiring and touching post, Holly … one of my son’s best friends has Type 1 Diabetes and is an excellent high school baseball player despite it. I am thankful that I can share this with her.
Holly Michael said:
Thanks Angela. Jake has been a real advocate for staying healthy with diabetes.

Um, I should have said, “I am thankful that I can share this with his mom”! I had a tooth removed and a bone graft placed in the vacant spot for an implant later and have been taking pain meds … I guess it’s understandable that I left out a word or two?

I understood. Hope you are feeling better.

Thank you!! Hoping he does well at camp and makes the final roster.

What an incredible young man. I love stories like this. I’d wish him all the luck in the world but it looks like he makes his own luck. You have every right to be proud of him!
